Etymology of Disa:
Origin obscure. Börge Pettison believes the plant was named after Queen Disa who occurs in a Swedish legendary saga. The author, Peter Jonas Bergius, was a Swedish botanist.

From the Latin inflexus = ‘bent' or 'curved’ inwards
