Etymology of Myagrum:
Gk. muagron or myagros, name for species of mustard by Dioscorides and Pliny the Elder, but alluding to a wider range of crops. Gk. mys = mouse; agra = to ensnare, hence a mouse-trap, or agros = field, hence mice field. Some species are invasive and compete with broadleaf crops such as chickpeas, canola, lupins, etc. – all areas infested with mice.
