Dwarf leafless, mat-forming succulent, 2--5 cm, stems 4 or 5-angled and tuberculate. Flowers shallowly campunulate, 20--26 mm diam. with petals 5--6 mm wide, white to yellow with brownish to purple banding, inner corona lobes adpressed to backs of anthers. Jan.--Apr. Gravelly lower slopes and flats in karroid scrub, KM, LB, SE (Montagu to Barrydale to E Cape).
