Etymology of Pistorinia:
For Santiago Pistorini (?–1776) Spanish physician of Italian descent. In 1766 he was appointed a royal physician to the Spanish King Charles III (1716–1788) and in 1770 became assistant royal physician and assistant Chief Medical Officer to Dr Asceso. He went on sick leave in 1774, requested retirement in 1775 and died in 1776.
