This is a collaborative photographic guide by some of the biggest names in contemporary Namibian botany. Focused on the south-western corner of Namibia, mainly the southern Namib Desert (known as the Sperregebiet), it also includes many plants from the Fish River hike. The area is topographically very diverse with many unique habitats and niches harboring nearly 25% of Namibias flora including a multitude of endemic and near-endemic species, with over 1000 species occurring in this region alone. It features 350 species, many with multiple pictures per species. It helpfully includes etymologies, descriptions and excellent general information on each species.
