Karoo1 Reserve and Guest Lodge
Situated at the top of the Hex River Pass, this is most akin to Klein Karoo vegetation, but with strong affinities with the Breede River / Hex River flora. With a long history as a working farm, most recently (2020) this has been taken over as a guest lodge and nature reserve. Just in time, because a fire to on the western side of the farm has led to an extraordinary diverisity of plants emerging. There are fantastic facilities for guests including a natural pool and wedding/convention facilities. It is a combination of fynbos and renosterveld and has some fantastic scenery including a fantastic natural amphitheatre.
