Etymology of Abutilon:
Arabic aubutilun, Latinised as abutilon, first used by Ibn Sina Avicenna (Abd Allāh ibn Sīnā) (980–1037) for a mallow-like plant or mulberry tree. The leaves of some species in this genus resemble those of the mulberry tree.
Etymology of rehmannii:
Commemorating the German botanist and bryologist Anton(i) Rehman(n) (1840-1917). He visited SA twice, in 1875-1877 and 1879-1880. He made over 9000 collections probably representing over 3000 species.
