Etymology of Acrolophia:
Gk. akros = at the tip, end; lophos = crest; akrolophia = mountain ridge; referring to the raised edges (crests) on the flower’s lip or habitat. ‘Alluding either to the keels on the lip or, more probably, to the mountainous habitat of all the species.’ (Pfitzer, 1888–1889).
Etymology of bolusii:
Named after renowned botanist, businessman, artist and philanthropist, Harry Bolus (1834-1911) after whom the Bolus Herbarium of UCT is named. Five genera are named after him and over 100 species. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Bolus
