Flowers scattered, bright yellow, fading black when dried, keel glabrous, calyx glabrous or thinly hairy, lobes occ. pungent. Oct.--Dec. Mountain fynbos, 200--1500 m, NW, SW, KM, LB (Cold Bokkeveld Mts to Caledon Swartberg, Langeberg and Swartberg Mts).
