Short etymology:
For M Louis-Marie Brillantais-Marion, 19th-century French timber merchant, shipbuilder, and founder with Captain Jean-François Landolphe of a company that had exclusive trading privileges in Benin granted by King Louis XVI. He apparently provided services that helped to facilitate the researches of the French botanist and entomologist Ambroise Marie François Joseph Palisot, baron de Beauvois, who collected in Benin and neighbouring Nigeria.
