Perennial or biennial to 10 cm, occ. branched at base. Leaves opposite, depressed-ovate, closely imbricate, recurved-ciliate, margins occ. membranous. Flowers in a terminal head, tubular, white to yellow, petals 7--13 mm long. May--Aug. Quartzite gravel and rocky pavement, NW, KM (S Namibia and Karoo to Little Karoo).
