Densely papillate, few-branched perennial to 1.5 m. Leaves opposite, lanceolate to triangular, green to grey occ. with purple blotches. Flowers in flat-topped, pedunculate clusters, tubular, white, pink or red, petals 33--6 mm long. Oct.--Jan. Dry lower slopes, SE (Karoo and Uitenhage to N Province).
