Twining tuberous perennial. Leaves linear-lanceolate or digitately lobed, toothed. Flowers in the upper axils, showy, bilabiate, laterally slit, white to purple, 10--26 mm long, stamens short, less than half as long as the corolla, 3--5 mm long, all anthers bearded. Aug.--Oct. Sandy flats and slopes, NW, SW, KM, LB, SE (Namaqualand to Port Elizabeth).
