For Joseph Dobrowsky (1753–1829), Hungarian theologian and philologist who lived in Bohemia (part of the Czech Republic), rector in the general seminary at Hradisch. His fame rests mainly on his slavonic studies – he researched Biblical fragments, wrote a history of the Bohemian and Moravian literature (1818), a German-Bohemian dictionary in two volumes (1802, 1821), and other works, but his botanical contributions were also noteworthy. He authored Entwurf eines Pflanzensystems nach Zahlen und Verhältnissen (Design of a Plant System of Numbers and Ratios) (1802). In 1795 he was temporarily confined to a mental hospital but recovered in 1803 and authored at least another seven publications before his death.
