Bulbous geophyte, 10--30 cm, scape scabrid below. Leaves dry at flowering, single, sometimes 2, terete, firm, erect. Flowers in flexuose racemes, brown, tepals more or less free, reflexed, stamens connivent, lightly scented, open at night. Jan.--Feb., mostly after fire. Rocky slopes and flats, SW, AP (Du Toitskloof to De Hoop).
