Short etymology:
For Henry George Flanagan (1861–1919), South African citrus farmer with an interest in botany who collected actively around Komga and Kei Mouth of the Eastern Cape from 1889 onwards and later in other parts the Cape Province and Orange Free State. He developed, on his farm in the Komga District, a noteworthy garden containing rare exotics as well as South African trees and shrubs. His herbarium was bequeathed to the National Herbarium in Pretoria.
