Species Grevillea robusta

For Charles Francis Greville (1749–1809), British antiquarian and collector with a special interest in minerals and precious stones. He was a keen horticulturist, Fellow and vice-president of the Royal Society, a Fellow of the Linnaean Society, and a co-founder in 1804 of the Horticultural Society of London (now called the Royal Horticultural Society) with his close friend Sir Joseph Banks and five others. He introduced and grew many rare plants, 14 of which were illustrated in Curtis’s Botanical Magazine. When his father died in 1773, his brother became Earl of Warwick, and Charles Greville inherited his seat of Warwick in the House of Commons and became a lord of the Admiralty.
