Etymology of Hesperantha:
Gk. hesperos = evening; anthos = flower. Many flowers open late in the day, toward evening, Afrikaans aandblom = evening bloom/flower.
Etymology of lutea:
From the Latin lūteus = 'saffron coloured' reffering to a yellow tinged with orange or brown. Typically referring to the flower colour.
