Etymology of Kissenia:
For Kishin or Qishn, a locality on the south coast of Arabia, where the original specimen was collected. Originally, through a comedy of errors, it was thought that Kissen was a traveller in Arabia, but it has now been clearly established that this genus is named after a location, not a person.
Etymology of capensis:
From the Cape Province of South Africa, previously known as the Cape Colony. -ensis is a Latin adjectival suffix meaning “pertaining to or “originating in,” Thus these organisms were first discovered in the Cape. In the early days of exploration this epithet was frequently applied to anywhere in South Africa or even Southern Africa
