Shrublet to 40 cm, stems to 1 cm diam. Leaves fused, the sheath swollen and with an impressed line, apiculate, to 35 mm long, 4 mm diam. Flowers in a many-flowered inflorescence, purple, 18 mm diam.. Fruits funnel-shaped. Oct. ?, NW (Cedarberg Mts to Ceres Karoo).
