Short etymology:
Latin name for wild mustard or ‘charlock’, Gk. lapsane = a weed alleged to have healing properties, common name ‘nipplewort’. Each of the lower leaves of communis typically has a large terminal lobe and two small side lobes, the latter resembling a pair of elongated ‘nipples’.
