Dioecious shrub to 1.7 m. Leaves needle-like or the upper flattened, oblanceolate, 35 mm long (male), to 45 mm long (female), involucral leaves similar, pale green to yellow. Male flower heads 10--13 mm diam., female c. 16 mm diam. Sweetly scented. Oct.--Dec. Sandstone slopes, SW, KM, LB, SE (Dutoitskloof to Kouga Mts and Swartberg Mts).
