Dioecious shrub to 4 m, bushy below. Leaves oblong, adpressed-silvery silky or glabrescent, 20--35 mm long, involucral leaves slightly larger, ivory to pale yellow. Male flower heads c. 15 mm diam., female c. 12 mm diam., lightly scented. Oct.--Dec. Sandstone slopes, LB, SE (Langeberg: Swellendam and Outeniqua to Baviaanskloof Mts).
