Short etymology:
For Rudolf Benno von Römer (Roemer) of Neumark and Löthain (1803–1870), German farmer, botanist and wealthy Saxon estate owner who maintained an extensive botanical library, some 2 600 volumes of plants, many of which were ‘valuable prints’, which he bequeathed to the Leipzig University library.
