Etymology of Moraea:
Linnaeus married Sara Elisabeth Moraea; her father was Dr. Johan Moraeus, the town physician of Falun. The name "Morea" was originally given by Philip Miller after "Robert More of Shropshire", but was taken over by Linnaeus and changed to Moraea.
Etymology of bulbillifera:
From the Latin ‘bulbilli’ / ‘bulbullus’ meaning ‘a small bulb’; and the Latin ‘fera’ / ‘ferus’ meaning ‘bearing’.

Synonym status:
Cormous geophyte, 30--50 cm, stems often with clusters of cormlets at nodes. Leaf solitary, linear, trailing. Flowers stellate, tepals with short claws forming a shallow cup, yellow to salmon, anthers exserted on a slender filament column. Aug.--Sept. Sandstone and limestone soils, mainly coastal, SW, AP, LB, SE (Cape Peninsula to Alexandria).
