Sprawling, divaricately branched shrub to 60 cm. Leaves sessile, fascicled, linear to oblong, shortly ciliate on the margins and keel, spine-tipped. Flowers on short pedicels, axillary, pink or white. Capsules hispid, prominently horned. Mainly Sept.--Oct. Coastal calcareous sands, SW, AP, SE (Cape Peninsula to Knysna).
