Spreading or erect subshrub to 50 cm, villous on the young parts. Leaves sessile, fascicled, lanceolate, channelled, villous below, often hooked above and spine-tipped. Flowers sessile, axillary, pink or white with red keel. Capsules with short, hispid horns. June--Dec. Limestone slopes, AP (Bredasdorp to Stilbaai).
