Closely leafy, grey-tomentose shrublet to 30 cm. Leaves linear, 8--13 mm long, rough, margins closely revolute. Flowers in large, solitary, plumose capitula surrounded by many leaves with enlarged petioles, without petals, whitish. Aug.--Jan. Sandstone plateaus, NW (Bokkeveld Mts to Cold Bokkeveld).
