Closely leafy, much-branched shrublet to 45 cm. Leaves needle-like, 5--9 mm long, smooth, margins closely revolute. Flowers in solitary, flattened capitula, whitish, without petals. Mainly Oct.--Jan. NW, SW, KM (Cedarberg to Hottentots Holland Mts and Swartberg).
