Etymology of Pleiospilos:
Gk. pleios = full of; spilos = a stain, spot; referring to the leaves speckled with small spots.
Etymology of loganii:
Likely named after the previous 'Laird' of Matjiesfontein, James Douglas Logan who founded The Lord Milner Hotel at Matjiesfontein in 1899. He died in 1920 and was buried at a graveyard 10km away.
