Gk. plexis = weaving, plaiting; pous = foot. The synonym of Plexipus is Chascanum cunefolius, and with imagination this plant’s ‘foot-shaped’ petals moving around (the weave) would suit the the brief description.
Etymology of integrifolius:
From the Latin integri = 'entire' and folius = 'leaves'. i.e. The plant having entire leaves, meaning having a smooth margin without indentations or serrations, lobes or undulations.
