Etymology of Psoralea:
Gk. psoraleos = scabby. The plants are covered with rough warty-looking glandular dots.
Etymology of latifolia:
From the Latin lati / latus meaning ‘wide’; and folius meaning ‘leaf’; i.e. the plant is broad-leafed
