Etymology of Rinorea:
Gk. rhinos = nose; oros = mountain. With imagination, the flower has a nose-like shape with an exerted anther and grows in tropical, hilly rainforests. Author Jean Baptiste Aublet does not explain the meaning of this name.

From the Latin angustus = ‘narrow’; and folius = ‘leaf’.
