Etymology of Rinorea:
Gk. rhinos = nose; oros = mountain. With imagination, the flower has a nose-like shape with an exerted anther and grows in tropical, hilly rainforests. Author Jean Baptiste Aublet does not explain the meaning of this name.

From the Natal region along the east-coast of South Africa
