Short etymology:
For Norman Keith Bonner Robson (1928– ), English botanist and author who worked for the British Museum (1962–1988). He made important botanical expeditions to Morocco, Zambia and Malawi between 1958 and 1959. He authored several works: New Research in Plant Anatomy (1970) with Norman Keith Bonner, DF Cutler and M Gregory; Ochnaceae (1973) with JG Garcia; Botanical Prints (1989); Celastraceae: Flora of Tropical East Africa (1994) with N Halle, B Mathew and R Blakelock; and others. Between 1977 and 2012, he described all 490 species of hypericum. He was made a Fellow of the Linnaean Society in 1960. La. dendron = tree.
