Sprawling, soft annual to 40 cm. Leaves finely divided, leaflets toothed. Flowers few in simple, leaf opposed umbels, white. Fruits burr-like with barbed prickles. Aug.--Nov. Flats and rocky slopes, NW, SW, AP, SE (Bokkeveld Mts to Cape Peninsula, W Karoo and E Cape to Europe).
