For Alexander Johann August Treichel (1837–1901), Prussian scientist, folklorist and historian who studied law and economics in Berlin. In 1876, he took charge of his large family estate in Hochpaleschken. Treichel had an extensive interest in the natural sciences, zoology, pre- and early history, folklore and culture. He was a very active member of many scientific teams, especially the Rudolf Virchow, led by Berlin Gesellschaft Society for Anthropology, Ethnology and Prehistory. His research over 20 years resulted in the publication of books relating to botany, archaeology, ethnology, house construction, local legends, songs and anecdotes, and rural and religious folklore and customs.
