Etymology of Utricularia:
La. utriculus = small bag, bladder-like; aria = pertaining to; referring to the insectivorous leaf sacs. The small insect-trapping sacs are attached to the underground leaves. ‘Bladderwort’.
Etymology of reflexa:
From the Latin reflexus = ‘bending back’
