La. vexator = one who disturbs, vexes; -ella = diminutive; alluding to the taxonomic problems created by the new genus.

Prostrate, mat-forming shrub 1--2 m diam. Leaves linear-spathulate, 9--45 mm long. Flower heads solitary, terminal, 15--20 mm diam., cream to pink, fragrant. Aug.--Dec. Sandstone slopes, NW, KM (Hex River Mts to Witteberg and Anysberg).
