Etymology of Zaleya:
An ancient Greek name (also called Zaleia, Zalia) for Butcher’s broom, according to the Dictionnaire des Sciences Naturelles, Dans Lequel on Traite ..., Volume 59 by Frédéric Cuvier. Wullei-Tsjarne, botanist, states: ‘Burmann’s son received this plant from the coast of Coromandel, which Burmann named Zaleya decandra, is the same plant that Linnaeus in his Mantissa put under Trianthema.’
