In CasaBio, images are watermarked to discourage copying. It is typically shows as semi-transparent white text in the bottom-right corner of the image, using the name of the photographer or the contributor.
CasaBio will get the text for the watermark in the following locations, in this order:
- The photographer's name that was added to the picture, if it was added
- The contributor's full name, if it was set on their profile
- The contributor's "username"
- Just "CasaBio" if it can't get the contributor's username for some reason.
