Etymology of Albizia:
For Filippo Degli Albizzi (1724–1789), an Italian nobleman, who introduced the silk tree (Albizia julibrissin) from Istanbul (then Constantinople) into Italy in about 1749. This tree then spread into the rest of Europe.
