For Alberto Judice Leote Cavaco (1916–?), Portuguese botany professor and plant collector who made botanical expeditions to France, Mozambique, and possibly Madagascar, as well as conducting research in Portugal. He taught for many years at the Agricultural Institute in the Ecole Polytechnique (Switzerland) and at the University of Lisbon. He ended his academic career by studying phanerogams at the National Museum of Natural History of France. He published a number of books, in French, on the flora of different countries, focusing on a few families. These include The Flora of Madagascar and the Comoros (1959), Flora of Gabon (1963) and Flora of Cameroon (1974).
