Small, erect or suberect perennial with ascending branches from a woody base, 10--35 cm. Leaves acicular, mostly glabrous, green. Flowers yellowish. Fruits relatively large, obovate, shorter than the bracts, strongly ribbed, not wrinkled. Apr.--Jan. Flats and lower slopes, NW, SW, KM (Worcester to Cape Peninsula and Swartberg Mts).
