Etymology of Cryophytum:
Gk. kruos = frost, hence cryo = extreme cold; phyton = plant; alluding to cold-weather plant-life, occurring at high altitudes.
Etymology of suaveolens:
From the Latin ‘suave’ = ‘pleasantly’; and the Latin ‘olens’ = ‘smelling’. i.e. pleasant smelling.
