Etymology of Cyathula:
Gk. kyathos = cup, ladle; -ula = diminutive. The stamens may be united into a membranous cup at the base.
Etymology of mannii:
Named after Gustav Mann (1835-1916) horticulturist who joined Kew in 1859, collected in West Africa and worked as a forestor in India
