Etymology of Cyphostemma:
Gk. kyphos = bent; stemma = wreath or garland; apparently referring to the leaves arising at grotesque angles from the swollen stem (Hugh Glen).
Etymology of paucidentatum:
From the Latin pauci = 'few' and dentatus meaning 'toothed'. Each tooth is angled equally as compared with serrate in which the projections are angled more on one side than the other (forward pointing).
