Etymology of Decaceras:
Gk. deka = ten; keras = horn, spur. Brachystelma huttonii (Harv.) is the synonym genus. A look at this plant suggests that the ‘horns’ refer to segements of the flower that are united at the tips or the spindle-like roots.
