Etymology of Euadenia:
Gk. eu- = well, good; aden = a gland; referring to the well-marked conspicuous glands below the ovary at the end of the gynophore.
Etymology of kirkii:
Named after Sir John Kirk (1832-1922), a Scottish physician, naturalist, and botanist who explored and collected plants in East Africa.
