Etymology of Laggera:
For Dr Franz Josef Lagger (1802–1870), Swiss physician and botanist. He studied medicine in Dijon and Freiburg (Fribourg) and practised in Freiburg in Switzerland. He collected specimens in Switzerland and Italy.
